I recently had the opportunity to read Chasing Famous: Living the Life You’ve Always Auditioned For by Lisa Lloyd. Lisa is a wife, mom, writer, speaker, and professional actress. In this book, she shares her struggle to live for God’s glory rather than her own. She shines light on the truth about who God is and what He says in His Word, and she encourages us to live for His fame.
Chasing Famous helps women realize they can let go of comparison, guilt over past failures, and feelings of inadequacy. We can stop being “yoked to the approval of man instead of the fame of God,” as Lisa writes on page 26. If our lives are for His glory, we can trust Him to supply what we need to do what He’s asked of us. We can step boldly into the role He’s asked us to play in His story.
If you’re struggling with the need to constantly “audition” for others, you’ll find comfort and encouragement in Lisa’s personal experience and the Scripture she weaves throughout this book. You’ll be challenged to live boldly for the fame of the One who has called you by name. You’ll learn that you can stop auditioning every day for the approval of others and rest in the approval of your Heavenly Father.
